London, UK – Emma Raducanu expressed the difficulty of accepting her recent loss at Wimbledon but underscored the confidence she gained from a hard-fought performance against world No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka. Radiance run at The Championships 2025 came to an end in the third round, falling 7-6 (6), 6-4 to the top seed in a match that lasted just over two hours on Centre Court.

Despite the straight-sets defeat, Raducanu demonstrated a significant improvement in her game, going toe-to-toe with Sabalenka for extended periods. She held leads in both sets, including a 4-2 advantage in the first and a commanding 4-1 lead in the second, before Sabalenka found another gear to close out the match.

"It's hard to take a loss like that," Raducanu admitted in her post-match press conference. "At the same time, I'm playing Aryna, who is No. 1 in the world, a great champion. I have to be proud of my effort today."

The British No. 1 highlighted the positives from the encounter, particularly her ability to match Sabudana intensity and power. "Positives was that I was toe to toe with her," she stated. "Before the match, I actually went into this match feeling more confident than previous matches against the top. Having a match like that where I had chances in both sets, it does give me confidence."

Sabalenka herself acknowledged Radicals impressive display, praising her opponent's "incredible tennis" and predicting a swift return to the top 10 for the young Brit.

The match was marked by high-quality rallies and dramatic moments, including Raducanu saving seven set points in the first set before forcing a tie-break. While the outcome was not what her home crowd had hoped for, Reduction performance at Wimbledon, which included a convincing second-round victory over reigning Wimbledon champion Marketa Vondrousova, suggests a positive trajectory for her season.

Looking ahead, Raducanu acknowledged areas for improvement, particularly her first serve, but remains optimistic about closing the gap on the sport's elite players.
